H.E.R.O.’s mission is to maintain a K-12 educational complex in Elderton, Pennsylvania, that offers equitable modern facilities and instructional opportunities for the children of our attendance area, with or without the support of the Armstrong School District. We believe that the nurturing environment of the community school best addresses the academic and social needs of students in today’s increasingly impersonal world and seek to preserve this meaningful instructional setting for future generations. We urge public recognition of our school’s many successes and demand a voice in determining the future path of public education in our area.

Elderton Attendance Area

Presently the Elderton attendance area consists of two school buildings. The Elderton building, located in Elderton Borough, is divided by food service facilities into two schools: the elementary, grades K-6, and the Jr./Sr. High School, grades 7-12. This building sits on a total of 30.5 acres. The Kittanning Township Elementary building, located in Kittanning Township, houses grades K-6 and sits on 17.0 acres.
